Flagler County RAMS #2047 Monthly Meeting Minutes

Time: 0900Bob Thierwechter called the meeting to order at 0900 hours, a quorum of 29 members were in attendance.
Old Business
The minutes from the 1/21/12 monthly meeting were approved as recorded.
The treasury report was reviewed by Gene Manno and approved.
New Business
Frank Damstra: Safety Report
- Ken Gordan was kind enough to share his misfortune regarding making adjustments on his plane while
the engine was running. Unfortunately his accident is a good reminder to all of the precautions we must
take when working on our planes.
- AMA requires that we have contact info secured in our models at all times.
- NO PLANES, glow, gas, or electric is to EVER be run under the shed. NEVER!!!
- Keep an eye on full scale planes overhead and alert those that may be flying.
- Follow the established "pattern".
Bob Thierwechter:
- Spring picnic is planned for May 6th.
- Ground School - Bob discussed the need for "ground school" to help new members better acquaint
themselves with club etiquette, regulations, and helpful hints to fly safely. First meeting will commence
after today's meeting. Anyone is always invited.
- Gate has been repaired and is operating once again.
- AMA & FAA have come to an agreement regarding our hobby. Details still to follow, but this appears to
be a great thing for our hobby after several years of concern.
- Welcome back Gene Gould from successful "hip surgery".
- the current 2012 AMA club roster is posted on the bulletin board.
No dates yet for the picnic, probably in May and late Oct or early Nov.
- 50/50 raffle won by Emil Nelson. $30/$30
